iMOM – iMOM Morning is a simple idea with a profound impact. It’s a 30 minute breakfast held before school where mothers and their children meet with other moms and kids in the school cafeteria. During this time, they discuss a wide range of family topics, spend time together, create fun memories, and are equipped with resources to strengthen their relationship.
All Pro Dad – All Pro Dad’s Day is a simple idea with a profound impact. It’s a 30 minute breakfast held before school where fathers and their children meet with other dads and kids in the school cafeteria. During this time, they discuss a wide range of family topics, spend time together, create fun memories, and are equipped with resources to strengthen their relationship.
Art Masters — Staff and students learn about artists and experience the artist’s techniques through this hands on program. Students creations are displays at our Open House.
Birthday Book Club — Students celebrate their birthday along with others during their birthday month. Crafts and goodies accompany an opportunity to give new Scholastic books to our school library or classroom in honor of their birthday.
Red Ribbon Week — Annual Say “NO” to Drugs program. There are week long activities in each classroom and school wide October 26-30.
Team T.O.M. – Student safety is a priority here at Schroeder. The most dangerous time for our students is when they are being picked up or dropped off at school. This year we are starting the Take One Minute Campaign that asks all drivers to Take One Minute to look for kids. We have procedures in place to keep our students safe, but they will only work if all parents follow them. Please do not put your child or other children at risk to save yourself a few moments – it is not worth it.
Reflections – The Reflections theme for 2016-17 : “What Is Your Story?”
Reflections is a nation-wide arts appreciation and recognition program for students sponsored by National PTA. The Reflections Program is structured for PTAs to recognize students at the local, council, district, state, and national levels. Entries are first judged at the local level, where selected works, are chosen to represent the PTA at each subsequent level-council, district, or state-depending on each state PTA’s structure. Once entries reach the state level, the state PTA may select entries to submit to the National PTA. Awards of Excellence and Awards of Merit are recognized at the annual National PTA Convention and are displayed as a part of the program’s traveling exhibit.
To get involved, students submit an original piece, inspired by the annual theme, for their school’s Reflections Program in any of following arts areas:
- Dance Choreography
- Film Production
- Music Composition
- Visual Arts
